Regional Support to Protection-Sensitive Migration Management in the Western Balkans and Turkey
Two Albanian border police officers attended “Frontex led regional Refresher Training for Escort officers” national multipliers in Belgrade from 19-22 November 2019.
The training provided for the police officers with updated information to strengthen their practical skills in relation to non-voluntary return mechanism. The event focused on the migration trends, new identification solutions, updates on joint return operations, relevant case law, phases of return operations, etc. It served as a platform of exchange information and best practices among participants.
Also, one Albanian police officer attended “Frontex led Refresher Training for Multipliers on Detection of Falsified Documents in Eindhoven” on 27 October – 2 November 2019. The training provided knowledge on the latest phenomena in the area of document security and fraud detection to improve the operational response to mixed migration flows. The event allowed participants to exchange information on recent developments in document fraud and share evaluation experiences especially on the dissemination and transfer of knowledge and tools into the relevant national contexts.
Both trainings were provided under the EU-funded IPA II Project “Regional Support to Protection-Sensitive Migration Management in the Western Balkans and Turkey”, in partnership with Frontex and IOM.
