Celebrating team spirit: Highlights from the IOM Albania staff retreat
Recently, the IOM Albania team came together for an inspiring Staff Retreat, using the opportunity to reflect on our mission and share ideas on how we can continue making a positive impact on the protection of migrants' rights, with a particular focus on those exposed to vulnerabilities.
With a focus on strengthening communication, collaboration, and well-being, the retreat aimed to encourage a sense of unity and strengthen teamwork among our diverse staff across the Tirana and Shengjin offices.
The agenda was packed with insightful sessions, from an overview of IOM’s Strategic Goals to Programme and Resources Management presentations showcasing the diverse and impactful work happening across our teams, and practical workshops on well-being and creating a safe and respectful workplace.
With a particular focus on improving staff well-being, work-life harmony, and resilience, we were joined by Diana Ridic, the IOM Western Balkans Staff Counselor. She also provided a brief overview of the Global Staff Survey and how we can continue to support one another.
Another key session was focused on PSEAH (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment), where it was reaffirmed that as IOM staff members we are all required to fully understand what types of behavior may be considered SEA, adopt behavior that respects the rights of the beneficiaries and report any allegation or suspicion of SEA or any retaliatory action related to SEA.
Concluding the event, Alma Jani, IOM Albania Head of Office expressed a heartfelt thank you to the entire team for the dedication and energy: "It’s a moment to acknowledge the profound impact of our time together and to honor the connections we’ve forged. First and foremost, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your presence, participation, and contributions throughout this retreat."
