Validation Workshop of Migration Governance Indicators and GCM prioritization for the New National Strategy on Migration
Tirana, 19 May 2023 - IOM organized a validation workshop with Government officials, on the assessment of the current situation and the main priorities in the field of migration in Albania, in the function of drafting the new National Strategy for Migration and Action Plan.
During this event IOM experts and representatives from the Ministry of Interior of Albania, presented for discussion:
- The Structure of the new Migration Strategy,
- The findings of the Migration Governance Indicators (MGI) Assessment,
- The findings of the Report on the Prioritization of Objectives of the Global Compact on Migration (GCM).
This validation workshop was closely coordinated with the Ministry of Interior (MoI), as the primary Government institution responsible for migration governance and took place within the two-year project “Supporting the development and implementation of a new National Strategy on Migration and Action Plan in Albania” funded by IOM Development Fund.
