Strengthening the skills of Mobile Teams in Albania on the practical application of Standard Operating Procedures
Tirana, 14 August 2024 – IOM organized a workshop on the practical application of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IOM Mobile Teams in Gjirokastra, Konispol, Devoll, Kukes, Durres and Shkodra.
These SOPs are tailored to meet the unique needs of the local contexts to address critical challenges in migration management and regulate the work of the IOM Mobile Teams.
Through group work and practical exercises, the workshop covered key topics of discussion such as:
- Supporting migrants in vulnerable situations
- Enhancing outreach in remote locations and emergency situations
- Upholding ethics and security in our operations
The Standard Operating Procedures highlight the collaborative efforts between IOM and local authorities such as the Social Services and Child Protection Units, in addressing migration-related issues. A significant aspect of these interactions was the emphasis on Protection, Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration, and Displacement Tracking Matrix.
This workshop was organized under the regional project “Support for Evidence-Based Migration Management in the Western Balkans” supported by the UK Government.
