“Letters from the Diaspora” cultural event
Authors, translators, academics and well-known writers from Albanian Diaspora joined the cultural event "Letters from the Diaspora”, which was held on 22 February 2020 at the Palace of Congress, in Tirana, Albania.
"Letters from the Diaspora” event was organized by the Diaspora Publications Center, Albanian State Minister for Diaspora and the Ministry of Culture.
Representatives of IOM Albanian Programme 'Engage the Albanian Diaspora to the Social and Economic Development of Albania' participated in this event to give visibility to the programme, build networks with Albanian Diaspora professionals and emphasize the importance of the scientific Diaspora in the development of the country.
“There are hundreds of Albanian writers living and working abroad, who are the best ambassadors of the Albanian culture and pen. They are actively promoting and spreading the Albanian literature and language, as a vital component of Albanian Diaspora,” highlighted Mr. Pandeli Majko, Albanian State Minister for Diaspora.
The event was organized in different authors' panels aiming to promote Diaspora writers, publications and the literature of Diaspora.
The IOM Albania Diaspora Programme is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Albania, the UN Migration Agency, with funding from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in coordination with the Albanian State Minister for Diaspora, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance and Economy through Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA).
