IOM joins Tirana European Youth Capital celebrations to talk about "Albania is YOU!"
Albania has a long and complex historical migration. The tendency to migrate irregularly continues and its impact seems to be greater for the future of society.
Therefore, we joined the Tirana European Youth Capital team for Gjon Mili Jazz & Blues Festival to inform young people about the "Albania is YOU!" campaign, which aims to educate Albanian citizens and young people about regular migration.
Gjon Mili Jazz & Blues Festival in Tirana was a great occasion to talk with young people and share information about safe, orderly, and regular migration; discuss about the consequences of irregular migration and encourage them on considering existing economic and educational opportunities in Albania.
We believe that youth are the best community influencers and messengers of the “Albania is YOU!” campaign, aiming to influence the change of behavior of groups with high potential to migrate irregularly and for demystification of false narratives on migration.
This year Tirana celebrates the title of European Youth Capital given by European Youth Forum EYF, created to empower young people in society and to strengthen the European identity.
ARISE ALL project, is co-funded by the European Union's Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, and partners: Migration Office of the Belgian Federal Office for Home Affairs, and the Repatriation and Deportation Service of the Netherlands.
