IOM Albania Participated in the International Human Rights Film Festival in Albania
Tirana – IOM Albania participated in the screening of the movie “The saint of the impossible”, discussing on several topics related to migration such as stigma, discrimination, exploitation, smuggling, reintegration of returnees etc. The Screening was done in the framework of the annual International Human Rights Festival hosted by “Marubi” Academy and the Security Academy.
Mr. Genci Pjetri, Program Coordinator at IOM Albania, was one of the panelists in the debate that followed the screening. He stressed that the most important concern of the two migrant boys, the main characters of the movie was that they were “invisible” to the host society. In fact, the contrary should happen as respecting their human rights and integration needs a “whole of society” approach.
The International Human Rights Film Festival in Albania (IHRFFA) is an annual human rights film festival founded by the Academy of Film and Multimedia Marubi in 2006, in collaboration with several human rights organizations and institutions.
