Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. IOM Albania understands migration as both a process and a human condition, requiring facilitative actions and interventions at the level of state, community and the individual.

IOM Albania contributes to the meeting of the National Council for European Integration
IOM Mission in Albania, the UN Migration Agency, participated to the meeting of the National Council for European Integration, held on 24 January 2020 at the Albanian Parliament premises, to discuss and contribute on the migration dynamics in Albania.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the migration strategy, the measures taken by the government to prevent and reduce irregular migration of Albanian citizens to EU countries, including employment policies, social protection and educational policies for returnees, as well as prevention of emigration of qualified people.
The meeting was attended by high level representatives of line ministries, business community and civil society. Ms. Alma Jani, Head of Office of the IOM Mission in Albania, in her speech shared with the participants information on current IOM Albania projects on migration management, contribution to the development of the National Strategy on Migration, assistance to migrants and promoting the positive impact of migration on Albania's social and economic development.
