The Conference of Association of Albanian Lawyers in Italy
The Association of Albanian Lawyers in Italy held a conference in Milan, on 8 February 2020. During the opening ceremony, the General Consul, Ms. Anila Pojani, highlighted the importance of this association to support Albanian Diaspora living in Italy by counseling this community on legal rights and duties, which are crucial for successful integration.
“The Albanian Lawyers Association in Italy represents a perfect example of the potential of the Albanian Diaspora in Italy. Through the current activities and thematic working groups, they are using their know-how and skills not only to help the other professionals and the Albanian community in Italy but also to create important bridges between Italy and Albania” says Mr. Ledion Zotaj. In the framework of the programme 'Engage the Albanian Diaspora to the Social and Economic Development of Albania', under the fellowship schemes, Ms. Zotaj is currently engaged to support the Albanian General Consulate in Milan in the activities with and for Albanian Diaspora.
Mr. Arjol Kondi, the Chairman of the Association, shared with the participants the journey of the first year of this association, as well as the objectives for the year to come.
“These events of Albanian Diaspora are good opportunities to establish contacts and networks with professionals as a great potential to invest their knowledge in the home country,” concludes Mr. Zotaj.
The Programme 'Engage the Albanian Diaspora to the Social and Economic Development of Albania' is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Albania, the UN Migration Agency, with funding from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in coordination with the Albanian State Minister for Diaspora, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Economy through Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA).
