Bit Milano 2020 Fair
Bit Milano 2020 Fair was held at the ‘FieraMilanoCity’ premises on 10 – 11 February 2020. Albania touristic attraction offers were presented by the Albanian National Tourism Agency (ANTA).
Thousands of visitors of Bit Milano 2020 had the opportunity to be informed on trends and the opportunities that tourism in Albania offers.
Among the touristic companies, which participated in this fair, there was a Tour Operator Agency founded by two young Albanian entrepreneurs Mr. Geri Cakoni and Mr. Erand Jucja. They both have studied at Genoa University in Italy. After studies, they choose to return to the home country and open a Tour Operator Agency. To run their company in Albania they used the strategies, management, marketing skills and the knowledge they gained abroad.
“The International Touristic Fairs remain a good opportunity to present Albania and the touristic potential our home country has,” says Mr. Ledion Zotaj. In the framework of the IOM programme 'Engage the Albanian Diaspora to the Social and Economic Development of Albania’, under the fellowship schemes, Ms. Zotaj is currently engaged in Albanian General Consulate in Milan, mainly in economic diplomacy matters.
“I discussed with Albanian Touristic companies on the support that the Diplomatic Missions offer in such events,” says Mr. Zotaj. “I also had the opportunity to inform them about the IOM Albania Diaspora Programme and especially on Connect Albania component, which will facilitate the engagement of Albanian Diaspora who lives in Italy into home country development through investments.”
The Programme 'Engage the Albanian Diaspora to the Social and Economic Development of Albania' is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Albania, the UN Migration Agency, with funding from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in coordination with the Albanian State Minister for Diaspora, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance and Economy through Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA).
