Returning migrants are often unable to realize their potential or to re-integrate successfully in the community of return without external support. To increase employability of returnees in rural areas of Albania and to prevent re-emigration, it is important to support entrepreneurship and self-employment among returnees. The overall project objective is to develop an innovative reintegration service to returning migrants, hence contributing to sustainable rural development and the promotion of entrepreneurship among returnees. The action will positively contribute to fighting poverty in selected rural areas by moving household businesses into the value chain and supporting formalization of rural entrepreneurship activities. The project activities envision: i) undertaking a national needs assessment for Sportele Migracioni (SM) in delivering business support services for returnees and formulating specific recommendations for capacity building actions; ii) Enhancing the capacities of Sportele Migracioni specialists throughout the country to orient returnees in rural areas to business support services through training and orientation; iii) developing and implementing  a national information and awareness raising campaign on promoting entrepreneurship in rural areas.

The project contributes to the realisation of the Government of Albania- UN Joint Programme of Cooperation.
