The project is part of the ‘Social Inclusion” programme implemented by the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Albania in the period 2013-2016 through the financial support of the Swiss Development Cooperation. The programme goals are to support effective elaboration and implementation of the Government of Albania's new Strategy for Social Inclusion and Social Protection (2014-2020). The programme contributes to the implementation of the Results Framework of the UN- Government of Albania Programme of Cooperation 2012-2016.
The action supports the articulation of policy responses and action plans for the social inclusion of three vulnerable categories in Albania; Victims of Trafficking (VOTs), Unaccompanied Minors (UAMs) and Returnees. The project will enhance synergies between two national referral mechanisms, the Mechanism for Identification, Referral and Assistance to the Victims of Trafficking and the Mechanism of Coordination of Work for Referral of Cases of Domestic Violence (VODV).
The following deliverables are envisioned by the action:
1. Social inclusion policy provisions for vulnerable groups (including Victims of Trafficking, Unaccompanied Minors and Returnees) incorporated in the new Social Inclusion Strategy for Albania (2014-2020);
2. Case managers throughout the country have the capacities to efficiently address the needs of VOTs and VODVs;
3. National and local authorities provide a more coordinated response and protection to VOTs and VODVs.
