German Forced Labour Compensation Project

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been designated by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to be a partner organization of the Federal Foundation handling claims and paying compensation to former forced and slave labourers under the Nazi regime. IOM was in charge of claims covering the so-called “rest of the world” category, which consists of non-Jewish victims living anywhere in the world except Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Republic of Moldova. IOM Tirana assisted with the programme's information campaign, reviewed applications for compensation and disbursed compensation payments to successful applicants. IOM Tirana collected 230 completed forms from claimants.
